Join 3rd grade students at Arbor Day at the American Legion Park by Lauren McKeever, Assistant to the Mayor, Town of Pinedale April 30, 2007 Just like other communities across America during the months of April and May, citizens of Pinedale will celebrate Arbor Day at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 17 at the American Legion Park in Pinedale. Arbor Day is an observance that celebrates the important role trees play in our lives and promotes tree planting and care. Nebraska was the first state to observe Arbor Day as a formal holiday in 1872. Wyoming celebrated its first Arbor Day in 1888 and “drizzling rain kept all indoors” the original article said. |
