Postage rates to increase to 41 cents May 14
New 'Forever' Stamps will lock in postal rate
April 26, 2007
On Monday, May 14th, the cost of mailing a first-class letter will go up from 39 cents to 41 cents.
As a new concept to lock in postal rates for customers, the U.S. Postal Service is offering a new “Forever” stamp which will cost 41 cents apiece, that will remain valid for sending a letter, regardless of future rate increases. The new Forever stamps do not have a price printed on them. The last postage rate increase was in January, 2006.
