Man killed in truck accident in Jonah Field

Wyoming Highway Patrol has reported the death of a 42-year old East Wenatchee, Washington man, Darrin J. Smith, on Saturday, May 5th. He was killed in a truck roll-over accident in the Jonah Field in Sublette County, south of Pinedale.
According to the report, the road was wet and muddy and there was a light snowfall in the area. Smith was driving a Wind River Oilfield Services Kenworth tractor pulling a tank trailer full of water around 2:00 AM. He was eastbound on a new cut-across road in the Jonah Field. For reasons unknown, the combination gradually left the roadway on the north side and went into the ditch. The entire combination rolled one time, coming to rest on the driver’s side. He was not wearing a seatbelt, and died at the scene. Smith’s truck was the only vehicle involved in the accident.
