Update, Tuesday, May 1, 2007, 11:00 AM: We called Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC, pronounced "ear-mack") in Idaho Falls, Idaho this morning to get an update on Monte Olsen.
His condition is the same as yesterday. He is still listed in "Serious Condition" in the Intensive Care Unit. "Serious" means that his vital signs are unstable and his condition is guarded. That is the standard definition, not specific to Monte. We still do not have any official confirmed specific details yet on his injuries. Monte was life-flighted to ERIMC on Saturday evening after an accident in Daniel. The incident is being described as the result of a domestic altercation with his wife, Lisa Glenn. According to court documents, the two had a verbal argument at their residence in Daniel, Wyoming. Glenn was attempting to leave the residence in her vehicle at a high rate of speed when she ran over her husband. Olsen was life-flighted by helicopter to EIRMC for trauma obtained from being struck by the vehicle.
Glenn was arrested for Reckless Endangering (placing another person in danger of death or serious bodily injury), a misdemeanor which in Wyoming is punishable by imprisonment for not more than one year. She was later released from the Sublette County jail on bond. For anyone who would like to send Monte a Get Well card, they may be sent to him "Care Of" the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center at the address below: Monte Olsen, c/o ICU Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center 3100 Channing Way Idaho Falls, Idaho 83404
Olsen has been the State House District #22 Representative from Daniel, Wyoming since 2003. He resides in Daniel.
