Pinedale man killed in roll-over accident

Loren H. Denney, of Pinedale, was killed on Monday, June 18, as the result of a roll-over accident on WYO 352 approximately 24 miles north of Pinedale, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol today.
According to the report, Denny, age 88, was driving southbound on WYO 352. The conditions were sunny and the roadway was dry. The accident occurred around 2:40 PM at milepost 17.8. He was driving a 1981 Subaru hatchback which approached, and then failed to negotiate, a right-hand curve in the roadway. His vehicle crossed the center line and went off the roadway on the east side where it then struck a delineator post. At that point, Denney steered to the right, which caused the vehicle to skid sideways going back across the roadway going off the west side. The vehicle then rolled one complete time coming to rest in the west barrow pit. During the rollover, Denney, who was not wearing his seat belt, was totally ejected from the vehicle. Troopers investigating the crash believe Denney may have fallen asleep. He died at the scene. No other vehicles or passengers were involved in the accident.
