Following the June 7 resignation of Matt Mead as U.S. Attorney for Wyoming , U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., is accepting letters of interest and resumes from people interested in filling the spot.
U.S. Attorneys are nominated by the President of the United States and confirmed by the U.S. Senate for a four-year term, but they serve at the pleasure of the President. The White House has asked for Senator Enzi’s input on nominees. Enzi plans to review information from those interested in serving and then he will submit three or more names to the White House. Applicants will be interviewed by the Administration and the President will choose his nominee.
June 26 is the deadline for resumes and letters of interest to be submitted to Enzi. Items should be sent to Enzi’s D.C. office by fax, 202-228-0359, or by contacting Tara Ord, 202-224-3424, tara_ord@enzi.senate.gov.
The primary job of a United States attorney is to prosecute violations of federal law and defend the federal government in civil suits.
