Pedestrian Crossing Lights planned for Pinedale
To be installed by 2009
by Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT)
July 13, 2007
(Pinedale) - Recognizing the need for safe pedestrian crossings in Pinedale, the Wyoming Department of Transportation has budgeted two pedestrian crossing lights to be installed no later than 2009.
One pedestrian activated light will be installed at Pine Street and Tyler Avenue. This contract is scheduled to go out for bid by the end of 2008 and is anticipated to be completed by October 2009. Letting of the contract could be accelerated if additional funding is appropriated by the Wyoming Legislature.
WYDOT is seeking public input for the placement of the second system. Suggestions for the location of the second light must be made in writing and mailed to Theresa Herbin, WYDOT District 3 Public Involvement Specialist at P.O. Box 1260, Rock Springs, WY 82902 or emailed to theresa.herbin@dot.state.wy.us or faxed to 307-352-3150 by August 10.
WYDOT will continue to monitor traffic volumes for a full traffic signal placement at Pine Street and Tyler Avenue. When conditions warrant the installation of the full traffic signal, it will be placed in the District's improvement plan and installed accordingly.
