In Memory of Lance
Todd Stevie lead Lance Koppenhafer's horse around the arena in his memory. Lance was an avid rodeo enthusiast and participant from Pinedale. He died in February.

Rendezvous Rodeo

The annual Rendezvous Rodeo was held Thursday - Saturday during the Green River Rendezous, July 12-14. Events included rough stock (bull riding, bareback, saddle bronc), team roping, and barrel racing.
This year's rodeo was a little more exciting than usual. On Thursday, rodeo-goers had to evacuate the rodeo grounds due to a fast-moving grass fire on the outskirts of town. The fire put up a huge column of smoke and came very near homes on the southeast side of town. Flames could be seen from the rodeo grounds. Retardant planes and helicopters flew over head as they battled the blaze.
The 2nd and third nights, there were thunderstorms overhead that brought brief periods of strong winds, lightning and rain that interrupted the rodeo for a bit.
The Rendezvous Rodeo is always hugely popular, and many locals participate in the various events.
