Update: 6:50 PM: A Flood or Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains, Jackson Hole, Wind River Mountains West, Wind River Mountains East, Star Valley, Salt River and Wyoming Ranges, Upper Green River Basin Foothills, Upper Green River Basin, South Lincoln County. ____________________
Update 5:47 PM: Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Sublette County CANCELLED (NWS). ____________________
Update 4:04 PM: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains valid until 9:00 PM this evening (Wednesday, September 5) for three counties: Fremont, Sweetwater and Sublette. This Watch includes the towns of Pinedale, Big Piney, Dubois, Green River, Lander, Riverton and Rock Springs. ____________________
Update 3:27 PM: Snake River Canyon CLOSED due to mud and rock slides across road Flash Flood Warning upgraded to a Flash Flood Watch. Potential for flash flooding, especially in canyons and areas scarred by recent fires. Heavy rains possible this evening, up to 1-2 inches possible. ____________________
3:16 PM Update: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southwestern Sublette County is CANCELLED. The storm has decreased in intensity and is no longer severe, therefore the warning has been cancelled. _____________________
2:50 PM Update: Doppler radar continued to indicate a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing nickel size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
This storm was located 14 miles West of Big Piney, or about 30 miles SE of Afton and moving NE at 30 mph.
The Severe Thunderstorm will be near: Marbleton & Big Piney by 3:15 PM Hwy Jct 189 and 351 by 3:20 PM U.S. Hwy 189 Mile Marker 120 by 3:30 PM.
If you are in the path of this storm, prepare immediately for damaging winds, large hail and deadly cloud to ground lightning. Take cover in a sturdy structure until the storm passes.

People outside should move to a shelter, preferably inside a strong building but away from windows. _____________________ 2:00 PM Update: The National Weather Service out of Riverton has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Sublette, Lincoln and Teton Counties until 5:00 PM Wednesday, September 5.
They have also issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Sublette, Fremont, Lincoln and Sweetwater Counties until 9:00 PM Wednesday evening.
