Rain, maybe snow, on the way
Showers, t-storms, snow in the mountains
October 16, 2007
The nice fall weather is expected to turn to rain by Tuesday evening in western and central Wyoming. An active weather pattern is approaching from the west which will bring scattered rain showers and possible thunderstorms by Tuesday evening. Higher elevations above 6,500 feet area likely to get snow showers over-night.
Travelers should be alert for areas of dense morning fog in places, especially in low-lying areas and along waterways. Fog may reduce visibility to under a mile at times. Light snow accumulation is possible at higher elevations making travel through mountain passes slippery at times.
The outlook for Wednesday through Monday is for periods of snow in the western mountains, with the most chance on Thursday afternoon through the night. More precipitation is predicted again over the weekend as a strong Pacific jet stream moves into the central Rockies.
