Second Grade students learn about fire
by Bridger-Teton National Forest
October 10, 2007
(Pinedale) - Bridger-Teton National Forest firefighters visited Ms. Bennett’s second grade Tuesday, October 2nd, during Fire Awareness week.
Nan Stinson, Fire Prevention Education Specialist, brought wildland firefighter personal protective equipment (PPE) and other gear to the classroom to show the students. They got to see many of the tools and equipment firefighters use during prescribed burns and wildfire suppression actions. Engine Captain Brad Hall and crewmember Whitney Murphy brought Pinedale Ranger Districts Engine 7-1 and gave the kids a tour of the engine, its equipment and gear. The students all wanted to know where they kept their “mountain money” a.k.a. toilet paper!
