According to a story that appeared today, October 15, on the Land Line Magazine website, a Wyoming legislative panel is looking into the possibility of imposing tolls on Interstate 80 (I-80) truck traffic to help foot the bill for the rising cost of road repairs.

The action is being considered by the Joint Interim Committee on Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs. They are asking state transportation officials about the feasibility of this, how much revenue would be generated, or whether or not a better option would be to increase the state’s fuel tax or to charge higher driver’s license fees.
