Winter Storm Watch Friday
Rain mixed with snow in the forecast

The National Weather Service out of Riverton has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the West-Central mountains including the Wind River Range from 3:00 PM Friday through 6:00 AM Saturday.

A major storm system is expected to begin to impact Wyoming on Friday, bringing with it a chance for precipitation. The Wyoming, Salt River and Gros Ventre and Wind River Range may see as much as 6 to 12 inches of snowfall. Some areas over 9,000 feet elevation may see local amounts of over a foot of accumulation.
Colder air is expected to filter in on Saturday which may turn rain into snow above 5,500 feet elevation late Saturday. Snow, mixed with rain, may be widespread across the area Saturday night, along with cooler temperatures.
Hunters and others with outdoor activities planned this weekend are advised to check the latest weather forecast regarding this potential ran and snow storm.

Some thunder is also possible. Low around 32. Calm wind becoming west between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Saturday: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 35. West wind between 13 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Saturday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Northwest wind between 5 and 14 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 23.
Columbus Day: Sunny, with a high near 54. Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27.
