Rendezvous Pointe is a gathering place for Sublette County Seniors, and for the community. The center has been able to grow and provide more services to help senior citizens, the disabled, and the community. They are currently working on building new senior housing for those who choose to leave their own homes and can live independently.
The center wishes to thank the Sublette County Commissioners, the Pinedale Town Council, the Rural Health Care Board and the state of Wyoming for their hard work and generosity to help them achieve financial growth and stability. Still, their financial future is uncertain and they still need to work on securing adequate financial resources to sustain their programs and ensure they can retain quality staff to deliver services and help those in need.
In an effort to ensure their financial stability, Rendezvous Pointe is starting this year what will become an annual year-end fund drive known as “Friends of Rendezvous Pointe.” Their goal is to raise $10,000 and hope for a $1 for $1 match provided by one of our area businesses. With the match, they hope to raise $20,000, and would be delighted if they are able to raise more than that.
“I encourage people to make a year-end tax deductible contribution to Rendezvous Pointe,” said Executive Director, Paul Jensen. Chairing the first annual fundraising campaign are Gene and Sue Eversull; Paul and Bette Hagenstein; Rollie and Judi Myers; Norm and Barbara Pape; and Rose Skinner.
“Rendezvous Pointe is a gathering place for Sublette County seniors and their community,” Jensen said. “It fosters friendship and the enjoyment of each other. Whether it is watercolors, ceramics, music, the Fiber Guild, a trip to Yellowstone National Park, Tai Chi, or card games, we have fun and can learn something, too.”
“We are committed to keeping the seniors and the disabled in our community healthy, active, self-reliant, and able to live in their own homes or independently as long as possible,” Jensen said.
They are creating a contribution “Wall of Fame”, The Gems of Sublette County, which will have the following categories:
Diamond Donors: $1,000 or more Ruby Donors: $500 to $999 Emerald Donors: $300 to $499 Sapphire Donors: $100 to $299 Opal Donors: $99 or less
Beyond these categories, they will establish a special place for contributions made in the memory of a loved one or friend, titled “A Living Memorial”, for contributions of $100 or more. Contributors may make suggestions on how they would like Rendezvous Pointe to use their donations, which will be respected to the best as possible within local, state and federal program stipulations that guide how their money is spent.
