The Big Piney/Marbleton Stage Stop of the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race will be held on Tuesday, January 29th. There will be a community “Ice Box of the Nation’s, Sled Dog Celebration” on Monday night at the Marbleton Senior Center starting at 6:00 PM.
The organizing committee is still in need of sponsors for the community dinner and dance in honor of the Mushers. There will be great food, including special Dutch Oven delights, and live music for entertainment. EnerCrest, of Big Piney, is generously contributing as one of this year’s major sponsors for the dinner reception, however the committee still needs additional sponsorship funding. Total cost for the banquet is around $6,000. For more information about sponsorship and promotional opportunities for the Musher community dinner, please contact Bob Beiermann or Carie Whitman, 307-276-3808.

Host Families Needed Host families are still needed for the Mushers while they come to compete in the Big Piney/Marbleton leg of the race. “One way you can help welcome the Mushers to our area is by becoming a host family for one of the Mushers,” said Stage Stop committee member Carie Whitman. The Mushers will be staying in host homes on Monday, January 28, the night before the race. “The only meal you have to serve is breakfast before the race on the 29th, if the musher so desires,” said Whitman. There are no special requirements for the dogs, except access to hot water.
