(Cheyenne) – Olin Sims, a leader in the Wyoming conservation community, died unexpectedly after an accident at his ranch in McFadden last week.
Gov. Dave Freudenthal released the following statement upon hearing the news: “Olin was a leader in the conservation community, both in Wyoming and internationally. This tragic accident came at a time when he had recently been named president of the National Association of Conservation Districts. Olin’s commitment to the land and to the work of these groups was clear, and his voice was influential in the conservation community. I want to express my condolences to Olin’s wife, Tammie, his son, Tyler, and the entire Sims family.”
Services for Sims are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Rock River School. ________________________________________ Editor's Note: "Olin was well-known and liked in the state's ag community. He was a very good man, and a leader for agriculture," said Cat Urbigkit.
