The speed limit has been lowered on a section of Highway 351, the Big Piney Cutoff. The limit was reduced from 65 miles per hour down to 55 miles per hour. New speed limit signs were installed a few days ago.
The slower speed begins at the junction of Boulder South and Highway 351, near the New Fork River bridge, and continues to the Wardell Hill area to the west of the Green River.
Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers and Sublette County Sheriff's Office deputies have been busy getting drivers acquainted with the reduced speed.Troopers were busy slowing down the Thursday evening rush from the natural gas field, while on Friday morning, deputies lit up the dark with their lights as they constantly kept at least two vehicles stopped.
Kudos to the law enforcement community for its exhaustive effort to improve traffic safety on Highway 351.
