Pinedale gas prices – correction

Editor’s Note: Thank you to those who pointed out our error to the national average for gas prices we posted yesterday here on Pinedale Online. We incorrectly listed the U.S. average as $2.081 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, which prompted a couple of calls to the Pinedale Mayor’s office wondering why Pinedale gasoline prices, at $3.049 per gallon, were almost a dollar higher than the national average.
The correct U.S. average on Thursday for regular unleaded was $2.981 according to the fuelgaugereport.com AAA website. Wyoming’s state average was $2.908. With this correction, Pinedale’s gas prices were $0.06 per gallon higher than the national average and $0.14 per gallon higher than the Wyoming average on December 27th. Pinedale stations were $0.02 higher than prices for regular unleaded in Big Piney/Marbleton. We apologize for the error and have corrected our graphic.
Regular Unleaded December 27, 2007 Pinedale: $3.049 Big Piney: $3.024 WY: $2.908 US: $2.981 (corrected)
By the way, as we checked prices again today, Hawaii had the most expensive regular unleaded gas at $3.481 per gallon. Missouri had the cheapest at $2.813 per gallon. The national average has risen to $3.000 per gallon.
Thank you to Mayor Steve Smith for his note bringing this error to our attention, and for his offer to visit with our local gas stations if that price discrepancy was accurate!
