Government wants county coffer revenue sharing
Wyoming legislature seeks to redistribute revenue between wealthy and poor counties

The Casper Star-Tribune posted an article on Sunday, January 13, taking a look at the cost of operating some the counties in Wyoming compared to the revenue they bring in.
The article, written by Star-Tribune capital bureau reporter Joan Barron, discusses the challenge facing a select legislative committee on local government financing which is trying to find a more equitable way to distribute state funds.
“The select committee is required to prepare legislation for the 2009 session including recommendations in five areas. Those recommendations are to cover appropriate levels for revenue sharing between state and local governments, and “transparent” distribution formulas,” Barron wrote.
