4th Grade Ski Program 4th Graders

We finally have adequate snow to groom all of the trail system along Skyline Drive. Surveyor Park at White Pine is in excellent condition and was groomed several times over the past week for the 4th grade cross country ski program and the Special Olympics. (No pets please in Surveyor Park).

The tie-in trail from lower Surveyor down to Kelly Park is now groomed but there are plenty of exposed brush hazards here as well as on the trail from Kelly to Halfmoon Overlook. Use caution on the downhill! The trail complex at Kelly Park itself is in good condition.

The Old Road Trail from lower Surveyor to Halfmoon Overlook is in good condition except for thin spots on the lower trail above the Nordic Building where the PistenBully has tilled up some dirt. Two groomed spur trails off of the Old Road Trail have been added to give skiers more options on this part of the trail system.

The bike path to the CCC Ponds is groomed to the warming hut. We continue to wait for more snow for building barricades at the road entrances to keep out wheeled traffic. In the meantime, we are grooming the track at the high school and a connecting trail on the adjacent vacant county lot. Users may be subject to “Tanya’s Rules” on the loop behind the Proactive Rehab building.
