Special Weather Statement: Snow Showers for Pinedale

The National Weather Service out of Riverton issued a Special Weather Statement at 8:52 PM Thursday, January 24, advising of continued snow showers across the Upper Green River Basin for Thursday evening. Light to occasionally moderate snow is expected for the areas around Big Piney and Pinedale. Some areas will have visibility down to near a half a mile at times. Accumulations of from one to two inches are expected. Travelers are cautioned that some area roads will likely become snowpacked and slick.

Thursday night: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -6. Wind chill values as low as -20. East southeast wind between 5 and 7 mph. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 18. Wind chill values as low as -18. North wind at 7 mph becoming south southwest. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 1. Wind chill values as low as -13. West southwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming north.
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 22. Wind chill values as low as -9. East northeast wind around 8 mph. Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 0. Northeast wind between 6 and 8 mph.
Sunday: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 26. Sunday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 3.
