Thinking about Summer
And hiking in the Mountains
January 20, 2008
As much as we love winter, after a couple months of sub-freezing temperatures the mind does start thinking about summer and getting anxious about getting back up into the mountains again. We’re still months away from that here, but here’s a tantalizing reminder of what awaits once the snow gives up the high country. The Wind River Mountains, Wyoming Range and Gros Ventre Wilderness areas won't start opening up until around June, at the earliest. The Continental Divide and Cirque of the Towers areas won't be accessible until July.
