Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, February 15
by Bob Barrett, Pinedale Ski Education Foundation
February 15, 2008
The Pinedale Area Nordic Ski Trails are now in the best condition of the season. Skiing should be excellent this weekend and throughout the coming week with plenty of snow and a break from storms and the wind.
All trails along Skyline Drive and at White Pine are being freshly groomed with the PistenBully for the weekend with a classic track set throughout the entire trail system. Cold nights and temperatures approaching the 30s during the day should provide a firm and fast skating surface for the first time this season.
Wind drifts on the trails at the CCC Ponds have hampered grooming with the snowmobile drag but conditions are still fairly good. In town, we continue to groom an oval at the high school football field along with a connecting loop behind Proactive Rehab. High school P.E. classes ski this section, but the public is also welcome.
