In very disappointing news, Wyoming Assistant State Veterinarian Dr. Jim Logan said late Thursday afternoon that more cattle from a Daniel-area herd have tested positive for brucellosis. This is the same herd in which routine brucellosis surveillance testing at a salebarn revealed two infected animals last week. The producer's commercial cattle herd were tested by animal health officials on Wednesday, and results today found that of the 327 head bled for testing, 13 more were positive reactors. Logan said the producer's purebred herd will undergo testing on Monday.
