The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking any information regarding two moose that were illegally shot and left approximately 10 miles northeast of Boulder on the Scab Creek Road, near the Scab Creek elk feedground. The two moose, a cow and a yearling bull, were both shot from the road with a high-powered rifle, presumably on Wednesday, October 22nd or Thursday, October 23rd. The two carcasses were discovered by Pinedale Game Warden Brian Nesvik during routine patrols last weekend. The meat was not salvageable.

"We already have depressed moose populations in this area, so it makes the effects of this type of illegal shooting even more significant," said Nesvik. "Not only is it disrespectful to the animals, it takes away the opportunity for others to hunt, photograph or just enjoy seeing them."

Anyone with possible information regarding this poaching incident, or other suspicious vehicles or activities, are encouraged to call the Pinedale Game and Fish office at 1-800-452-9107 or the STOPPOACHING hotline at 1-877-WGFD-TIP (1-877-943-3847) or Pinedale Game Warden, Brian Nesvik at 307-367-2470. Any information leading to the arrest and conviction may result in a reward of up to $5,000.00.
