Golden Dragons come to town Nov. 5

by Pinedale Fine Arts Council
November 2, 2008
The Pinedale Fine Arts Council (PFAC) is proud to present the legendary Golden Dragon Acrobats on Wednesday November 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Pinedale Auditorium.
The Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of a time-honored tradition that began more than twenty-five centuries ago. The Dragons are recognized throughout the United States and abroad as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company of today. The reputation of the company is solidly rooted in a commitment to the highest of production values and an attention to artistic details that is unparalleled in the art form. World renowned impresario Danny Chang and choreographer Angela Chang combine award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques to present a show of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty.
The ancient art of Chinese Acrobatics is an old and long running tradition that began in China well over three thousand years ago. Over its long and rich history it has developed as one of the most popular art forms among the Chinese people. While many historical records provide evidence for the development of Chinese acrobatics as far back as the Xia Dynasty (4000 years ago), it is most commonly held that the art form did not become wildly popular until approximately 2,500 years ago when it began to capture the attention of the country's powerful emperors.
Tickets for the Nov. 5 performance are on sale now ($13 adults/$7 students) and are available at Rock Rabbit, Pony Express Photo, The Cowboy Shop, Office Outlets, the Big Piney Library and at the door the night of the performance ($1 extra).
