Editor’s Note: The short power outage north of Marbleton is a good opportunity for us to remind everyone to check their emergency supplies in their home. Even though Pinedale wasn't affected, it could easily have been. It’s not a matter of "if it will happen", but "when it will happen". Temperatures were -20 in Pinedale during this outage. It is a good idea to have flashlights, good batteries, an alternate heating source and cooking method that doesn’t rely on electricity, and a phone that can be used without electricity. For extended outages, it is a good idea to give thought to the needs of your household, pets and livestock, and what you should have on hand if the power were to go out for more than 24-hours during extreme temperature situations.
