Library Metamorphosis Continues
Sublette County Library
January 19, 2009
(PINEDALE) – The Sublette County Library, at 155 South Tyler Avenue, is a little bit louder than usual these days as construction work on the new addition enters its latest phase. The Lovatt Room is in the process of becoming the new children’s department and is no longer available for meeting space. "The board room is still available for small groups," said the Director of the Sublette County Library, Daphne Platts. "A dozen people can easily fit, fifteen would be a bit tight".
Responding to a rapidly growing community, the library is adding a new wing to better serve increased needs. The new wing of the library has been designed by Carney Architects of Jackson, WY, who also designed the main building in Pinedale. It will feature green building techniques and will house a larger public meeting room, a Western History Room, and more public access computers. Renovations on the main building will include cozy new youth and teen library space that sports a comfortable new reading room for younger patrons.
PLAY, the afterschool group, will not be affected. They will still be meeting place each Monday after school from 3-5p.m.
The library staff hopes the beginning of May will bring the opening of the new addition. Questions? Call 367-4114. For the latest construction update visit: http://www.sublettecountylibrary.org/Construction.htm
