PAWG meeting Feb. 19

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office will host the first Pinedale Anticline Working Group (PAWG) meeting of the new year at 1 p.m. on Feb. 19, 2009. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Pinedale Field Office located at 1625 West Pine, Pinedale, Wyo.
The meeting will include discussions on implementation of the Pinedale Anticline Project Area Record of Decision, the development of the Pinedale Anticline Project Office, any modifications the PAWG or the task groups may wish to make to its monitoring recommendations, and overall adaptive management implementation as it applies to the PAWG. Public comments are welcome prior to the end of each meeting. Future meetings will be held at 1 p.m. on March 26, May 28, July 23, and Sept. 24, 2009 at the BLM Pinedale Field Office.

The BLM manages more land – 258 million acres – than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western States, including Alaska. The Bureau, witha budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM’s multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Bureau accomplishes this by managing such activities as outdoor recreation, livestock grazing, mineral development, and energy production, and by conserving natural, historical, cultural, and other resources on public lands.
