The county’s second PistenBully 100 has arrived and was used this week at the CCC Pond Pathway to widen the skating lane and lay a classic track. The warm temperatures have caused a loss of snowpack. Sagebrush is exposed on all of the routes leaving the main pathway to the warming hut at the CCC Ponds. Grooming here will be with the snowmobile drag until we get more snow to support the PistenBully.

Skiing on the upper trails along Skyline Drive is good as most of the routes are hard packed and fast this week. Users are reminded that the trail system north of the White Pine parking lot is a training area reserved for skiers only. No pets or foot traffic please. Dogs and snowshoers are welcome on the remaining trails south of White Pine down to the Halfmoon Overlook and on the CCC Pond Pathway.

The Wyoming Senior Winter Games will be held at White Pine next month. Included this year is a 15k Nordic race on February 14 open to skiers of all ages. Better start training.
