The eighth grade basketball team is off to a rousing start. Sprinting out to a 5-0 record. The Lady Colts hosted Star Valley on Tuesday, February 3rd at home. This is a great opportunity as Star Valley is a 4A school. On Thursday, February 5th Big Piney comes to town for the county rival game. Then on Saturday, February 7th the Lady Colts venture south to play Mountain View and Lyman, who both will be in the 3A conference next year. The eighth grade team has played and won each game with the following scores:
Pinedale 42, Farson 12 Pinedale 47, Dubois 18 Pinedale 28, Jackson 14 Pinedale 44, Cokeville 31 Pinedale 40, Rich County 16
The team is made up of the following young ladies:
Jordyn Baker, center/forward Amber Barta, guard Taylor Connors, guard Tomara Conrad, center/forward Tayln Costello, guard/forward Samira Denis, point guard/forward Madison Dugan, guard/forward Cassidy James, guard Rebekah Knapp, forward Hattie McKay, center/forward Emily Sikorki, point guard/guard Alison Sturman, guard Kellie Terrell, forward Alison Wadsworth, guard
This is one of the best groups of young ladies I have been associated with in 27 years of working with Pinedale athletics. Their strength as a team is their unselfishness and team effort. They give 100% in practice and do whatever is asked of them. They play the game with passion, desire and intensity which shows in their record so far. I see great things in the future for Pinedale athletics. I would encourage them to continue the effort, teamwork and hard work as it will pay off in the future. It is truly a privilege to coach this group of young women.
