by Pinedale Community Theatre
March 7, 2009
Pinedale Community Theatre’s next production is a one act play for children performed by children. It is entitled "The Lion Who Lost His Roar" by Betty Langdon. Barbara Wise will direct the show.
Auditions for the production will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 3 & 4. Auditions are scheduled in the Pinedale High School Auditorium for Friday, April 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
There are roles for 14 children, a mixture of boys and girls. Children from 4th through 8th grade are eligible to audition. Children must be accompanied to auditions by a parent.
The play is about several children on their way to school who pass a lion in his cage. He is moaning and begging to be free so that he can hunt his own food as he once did. The children are sympathetic and offer him their own lunches. Instead he talks them into letting him out so that he can hunt again. The play goes on to tell of his adventures after he is freed. Of course everyone will want to attend the performance to see what happens to the lion and his friends.
The Pinedale Community Theatre is provided non-profit umbrella status by the Pinedale Fine Arts Council. This play is being produced with funding support from the Wyoming Arts Council.
