DEQ Air Quality Public Hearing March 30
For proposed gas/condensate production facilities by Shell, Chevron and EnCana
March 11, 2009
Wyoming DEQ will hold a public hearing in Pinedale for proposed gas/condensate production facilities by Shell Rocky Mountain Production, Chevron USA and EnCana Oil & Gas on Monday, March 30th. The public hearing will Pinedale Elementary School Library at 6:00 PM.
Chevron USA, has requested permission to build one new gas/condensate facility with a smokeless combustion device to control volatile organic compound (VOCs) and hazardous air pollution emissions. DEQ is proposing conditions requiring installation of a continuous monitoring system for the combustion device. Chevron has demonstrated that the permitting actions will result in a net reduction of VOC and NOx emissions.
Shell is also asking to construct and/or modify ten gas/condensate production facilities with reboiler overhead condenser and smokeless combustion devices to control VOC and hazardous air pollution emissions.
EnCana is also proposing gas/condensate production facilities.
The scope of the hearing will be limited to such issues in order for the Department of Environmental Quality to determine whether or not the applicable Air Quality Standards and Regulations will be violated as a result of the construction of the facility. All persons desiring to be heard on this matter are notified to appear at the hearing.
Oral statements will be accepted, but written statements are encouraged and will be accepted prior to and at the meeting.
