The Los Angeles Times had an article on March 12th about an 18-year study which showed an increased annual risk of death from respiratory illnesses due to long-term, low level exposure to heavy air pollution such as ozone. "The researchers found that every increase of 10 parts per billion (ppb) in average ozone concentrations was associated with about a 4% increase in dying from respiratory causes."
