Symbolic Tea Tea was symbolic of the 1773 Boston Tea Party protest by American colonists in Boston against the British government. Pinedale Tea Party The Pinedale Tax Day Tea Party coincided with tea party protests across the nation on April 15th. Joel Bousman Sublette County Commissioner Joel Bousman spoke on the many opportunities in local government for citizens to participate.

Approximately 50 people attended the Pinedale Tax Day Tea Party held in the Heritage Room of the Sublette Center on Wednesday, April 15th. The purpose of the event was to join other similar grassroots tea parties across the nation to voice opposition against excessive government spending and tax hikes.

There was tea to drink and many participants took the opportunity to write letters to Wyoming Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, and Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis, to express support for their consistent efforts opposing taxation and wasteful government spending. One couple drove 100 miles to Pinedale from Rock Springs to attend the Pinedale Tea Party.

Pinedale resident Bob Rule served as MC for the Pinedale Tea Party. He encouraged residents to become involved in the political system.

Sublette County Commissioner Joel Bousman spoke on the many opportunities in local government for citizens to participate.
