Big Piney High School held commencement services for the Class of 2009 on Tuesday, May 26th. Forty-three seniors graduated.

The Big Piney High School band played Pomp and Circumstance as graduates filed into the packed gymnasium. The Big Piney Choir sang several songs during the program. Dr. David Burnett gave the Welcome and later did the presentation of the awards. Former Big Piney football coach, Joel Eskelsen, returned to Big Piney from Tennessee to give the Commencement Address.

Line Up The graduates lined up outside before the ceremony.	Grand Processional The students entered the gymnasium to "Pomp and Circumstance," played by the Big Piney High School Band.	Valedictorian Priddis Jackson Priddis plans to attend Brigham Young University and get a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
William Schlepp Mr. Schlepp introduced Joel Eskelsen for the Commencement Address. The School Board was seated to his left.	Joel Eskelsen talks to the seniors Joel Eskelsen tells the seniors to live their lives so as not to become someone with "an asterix by their name," a reference to athletes who have done things to compromise their sports achievements. James Tune Award (L to R): Dr. Darcy Turner and Rich Anderson present an award to Senior James Tune.	All Walks of Life Graduates expressed their individuality and unique personalities in subtle ways during the commencement ceremony.	Jake Berry Jake received a scholarship from Questar. He plans to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall.
Cass Urbigkit Cass Urbigkit receives his diploma from Dr. Burnett. He plans to study business and political science at the University of Wyoming, then law school.	Patrick Tolton Patrick plans to become a professional freestyle skier and to study at Western Washington University in studio art philosophy.	Family Reception There was a reception to honor the graduates and their families in the cafeteria after the ceremony.
Graduation Cake	Jimmy Sims Senior Jimmy Sims worked especially hard for his diploma and proudly shows it off to his family.	After Graduation Party Graduates were treated to an After-Graduation Party with pizza, music, prizes and more. Local businesses always generously donate goodies for the senior party.
All Grown Up Many of these students have gone through 13 years of school together in Big Piney.
