12:00 PM, Friday, May 8, media release from Sublette County School District #1:
This morning at 10:45 AM (Friday, May 8), several elementary students became sick in the Wrangler Gym Lobby area. Because the cause was unknown, we have evacuated the elementary school students to the Lutheran church across the street. Students that were sick, were picked up and taken them home by parents. Currently, the fire dept, the natural gas company, and the EMTs are at the Elementary Bldg and are precautionarily checking the air quality to check for problems. Currently, all reports are negative. However, It appears at this time the emergency crews checking the scene have indicated they will NOT release the building to the district today. If parents would like to pick up their children at this time, call 367-2612 or report to the Lutheran Church (512 N Tyler Ave in Pinedale) for the procedure and instructions to check out your child. No child will be allowed to leave without being checked out. Buses will run as normal at the end of the day for students who remain at the Church. . Middle and High School students are not a part of this evacuation and remain in class.
