June 9 meeting set for proposed Regional Watershed Supply Project
Meeting in Rock Springs
by Wyoming Delegation (Enzi, Lummis, Barrasso)
June 1, 2009
Residents of southwestern Wyoming will have a chance to voice concerns about the proposed Regional Watershed Supply Project (RWSP) in Wyoming and Colorado. The Wyoming delegation, U.S. Senators Mike Enzi, John Barrasso and Representative Cynthia Lummis, all R-Wyo., praised the announcement by the Army Corps of Engineers to hold a meeting in Rock Springs.
Southwestern Wyoming area residents are encouraged to attend the June 9 meeting from 6:30 - 9 p.m. at Rock Springs East Junior High School Auditorium at 831 Gobel Street. During the meeting the RWSP proposal will be presented, the Environmental Impact Statement process will be explained and attendees will be able to discuss issues and alternatives.
The meeting announcement by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers follows a May 8, 2009 letter from the Wyoming delegation seeking additional public meetings in communities most directly affected by the proposal.
