(Pinedale) – If Ana Cuprill, the Young Adult Librarian, at the Sublette County Library on 155 S. Tyler Ave in Pinedale has it her way, kids won’t be the only ones reading this summer. If you are up for the challenge, she’s hoping the entire community will literally "Read A Ton" this summer. In case you are wondering, the complete Harry Potter series, hard cover edition, weighs 15.8 pounds. "When you read, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a book," said Cuprill. "Magazines, graphic novels, owner’s manuals… that’s all reading material and it counts." Sign up begins Friday, June 12 and final weigh-ins will take place Wednesday, August 12th. Interested patrons will weigh in their reading material and keep a log. Contestants will calculate the weight of all their reading and track their progress toward the community goal of 2,000 pounds. This is part of the Summer Reading Celebration, encouraging patrons of all ages to read. For teens who sign up with the summer reading program cash prizes will be awarded at the end of summer for those with the heaviest reading habits. Challenge your other family members, your friends or your neighbors to see who the heaviest reader is in Sublette County. For more information please call 307-367-4114.
