Mix of weather this week
Rain, thunderstorms, snow, rising streams
June 2, 2009
Widespread light showers are expected Tuesday (July 2). Some thunderstorms are expected to develop across much of western and southern Wyoming Tuesday.
Four to five inches of wet snow is expected to fall Tuesday morning on the mountains east of the Continental Divide above 7500 feet over the Absaroka mountains and the northern Big Horn mountains and over 9000 feet elsewhere. Travelers driving over Granite and Powder River Pass over the Big Horn mountains may encounter slushy roads Tuesday morning, as will those traveling over Togwotee pass and the Chief Joseph Highway.
Weather outlook for Tuesday through Sunday, June 3-7: More showers and thunderstorms are expected the remainder of the week, becoming more numerous by Thursday as this potentially active pattern continues into next weekend. Some thunderstorms could produce wind gusts, hail, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall.
