Pinedale plans workshops to review of Town ordinances
Mainstreet, green buildings, exterior standards, big boxes, roadside businesses, lighting, landscaping
June 4, 2009
The Town of Pinedale Planning & Zoning Commission will be hosting a series of workshops as part of the zoning and land development ordinance update. The current set of ordinances was adopted in 1980. There has not been a comprehensive review done since that time, although many amendments have been added. The Town wants to take advantage of the leveling out of the current boom, and planning and zoning issues fresh in the public's mind, to discuss planning and zoning issues and review the ordinances. The object of the workshop is to allow for discussion of issues and collect public comment on whether a new ordinance or a revision to the existing ordinance is required.
The goals of the update are to: - Collect public comment and facilitate discussion on current planning & zoning issues. - Align ordinances with current state & federal laws and industry standards & requirements for land development. - Align ordinances with Pinedale’s unique circumstances and local values. - Balancing Private Interest with the Public Good. - PROCESS The Planning & Zoning Commission will collect comments and facilitate discussion on existing and new ordinances throughout the summer and fall of 2009. Based on these discussions and ordinances identified by staff, new and revised ordinances will be drafted and brought back before the Planning & Zoning Commission for public review and comment. Ordinances will then be brought before the Town Council for review and approval.
TOPICS The following are potential topics for public comment that will be consolidated into workshops. The public is encouraged to look at this tentative list and let Planning & Zoning know if there are any other planning & zoning issues or ordinances that should be included and discussed.
