Author Ken Zontek’s National Guard unit got called back to Afghanistan, so he could not come to Rendezvous to give his paper. He sent the Museum an American flag that flew over a base in Kabul, Afghanistan on June 1, 2009. The Museum flew the same flag at the Museum during Rendezvous and the forum in honor of Ken and all the troops overseas. Ken's paper was titled, "A Fur Trader's Tale of Saving the Bison."
