Everything "Ewe" Ever Wanted to Know About Sheep Thursday, July 9th 3:30pm – 5:00pm Join local author Cat Urbigkit for an afternoon of children’s stories and related arts and crafts. The field trip will provide the chance for children to hear Cat read from her books, meet her animals, and complete several arts and crafts projects. Meet at the Sublette County Library in Pinedale at 3:15pm for check-in. Snack provided; dress to make a mess; no unaccompanied children.
Goin’ Dutch Wednesday, July 15th 3:30pm – 6:00pm Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful views of the Oplers’ conserved Flying Fish Hook Ranch in Boulder, and learn from the best as local Dutch oven chef, Ann Etcheverry, demonstrates tips and tricks of the trade. During downtime, when the meal is cooking, you can visit with friends, ask questions or contemplate your next menu. Full stomachs guaranteed. Sign up for this event now as it usually books up fast – Space is limited. Dinner will be served with a side dish of good company; dress comfortably and please bring a camp chair and sun protection.
Sunset Hike to Sacred Rim Tuesday, August 4th 4:00pm – 9:00pm Discover for yourself what makes the Winds so awesome by joining us for a sunset hike to Sacred Rim. While the hike is moderately challenging, the view is breathtaking and well worth the effort. Meet at the Elkhart Park Trailhead at 3:45pm SHARP. Snacks will be served. Please wear comfortable hiking clothing and shoes and bring both sun protection and rain gear; please also bring a headlight. Sturdy legs required.
Volunteer Day Saturday, August 8th 8:00am – 1:00pm You can be sure with volunteering that the dividends are always greater than the investment. An update on the purpose of the day’s project and safety talk will get us started. Then, we’ll head into the field for three hours, and return to the park for lunch at noon. This effort will focus on wildlife-friendly fencing. Meet us at Legion Park on Pine Street in Pinedale at 8:00am. Lunch and work gloves will be provided. Dress to work outside; bring rain gear.
GRVLT Annual Community-Wide Picnic Saturday, August 22nd 4:00pm – music ends A not-to-be-missed summer event! So, come one, come all and join us for an evening of visiting with friends and neighbors, drinking, dinner and dancing. A children’s activity area will ensure fun for the whole family. At the Sublette County Fairgrounds. To plan for a successful event, we must be able to determine the number of attendees, so please let us know if you’ll join us.
