Haying with Horses

Haying is in full swing in the Upper Green. Near Bondurant, Lennie Campbell is haying on the Dell Fork Ranch with his a pair of work horses. Because of the extensive rains in June, a bumper crop of hay is expected this year. This photo was taken by Barbara Ellwood on July 23rd. "I love this whole process: the only sound you hear is the clipping of the mower and the stretching and straining of the leather harnesses on the horses. It's just plain beautiful."
