by Sublette County Library Foundation, Inc
July 1, 2009
During Rendezvous Days this year, be sure to include a stop at the Sublette County Library at 155 S. Tyler Ave in Pinedale. The Annual Friends of the Sublette County Library Book Sale will take place during library hours on Friday, July 10 from 10:00 am - 5:30 pm and 7 – 9 pm and Saturday, July 11 from 10 am - 5:00 pm. The public is encouraged to stop by and fill their own possible bag with possibilities.
This much anticipated event will feature a variety of fiction and nonfiction books for both adults and children. Hard backs are priced at $1.00 and paper back cost 50 cents. Patrons are encouraged to rendezvous early for the best selections. There is plenty of parking available on Charles Street. Beat the heat and venture into the foyer of the new rammed earth addition. Browse tables brimming with a bounty of gently used books, VHS movies, and books on tape to make your summer sizzle, take on your vacation getaway or entertain you during your morning commute.
Donations of gently used books are accepted throughout the year. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Sublette County Library.
Additionally, noted western author and storyteller, Ken Thomasma will deliver two presentations following the parade on Saturday, July 11th in the Community Room of the Library at 1 pm and 2 pm.
Thomasma, teacher-turned-author, is a recipient of the Wyoming State Children's Book Award. He will share from his popular books, The Truth about Sacajawea and talk about the main character in his book, Naya Nuki: Shoshoni Girl Who Ran. Naya Nuki was an 11-year-old girl who was captured with Sacajawea, escaped, and ran more than 1,000 miles back to her people. Naya Nuki’s story will soon be portrayed in a major motion picture. Thomasma’s books will be available for purchase at each session, or bring your own copy for a personal signature. This event is sponsored jointly by the library and the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce. For more information call 307-367-4114.
