Vandals killing flowers along Pine Street
by Bettina Sparrowe, Sage & Snow Garden Club
July 16, 2009
It is hard to understand why anyone would vandalize the flowers along Pine Street, but that is what is happening. With the support of Pinedale merchants and the town of Pinedale, the Sage and Snow Garden Club planted over 100 flower barrels. In addition, several businesses decorated the streets of Pinedale with their own flowers, including planters and hanging baskets. Over the past weeks, various forms of vandalism have occurred, including barrels being overturned, flowers being pulled out of the soil, hanging baskets being stolen, and other unnecessary acts.
If you see any suspicious behavior around the flower barrels or hanging baskets in Pinedale or are the victim of vandalism, please report this to the police. If these incidents are not reported, the criminals cannot be caught. We would also appreciate you letting the Garden Club know if any of our barrels are involved. You may contact the Sage and Snow Garden Club at sageandsnow@yahoo.com or 307-367-7132. _________________________
