Field trip to the Wyoming Range Aug. 12
Sponsored by the Wyoming Outdoor Council
August 10, 2009
The Wyoming Outdoor Council invites the public to a field trip to the Wyoming Range on Wednesday, August 12th.
"Despite passage of the Wyoming Range Legacy Act this spring, the Range is still threatened by potential development on contested oil and gas leases," the WOC says. The trip will take participants to the McDougal Gap area to visit several parcels that the WOC says were "Improperly offered for development."
The trip is open to the public and everyone is welcome.
Anyone interested in attending should meet at the Pinedale Obo’s parking lot at 10:30 a.m. or at the Daniel Junction Store/Conoco at 11:00 a.m. WOC will arrange carpools.
The trip will be led by Lisa McGee of Wyoming Outdoor Council and Steff Kessler of The Wilderness Society. WOC plans to invite a representative from the Forest Service to help with questions. Participants should bring a sack lunch, water, appropriate clothing for varying weather conditions, closed toe, sturdy shoes and a camera.
Please RSVP to Lisa McGee at lisa@wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org, 307-332-7031 ext. 20
