JACKSON–The Bridger Teton National Forest will release an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Jackson Administrative Site Land Conveyance and Development project. The proposal calls for the sale of up to 11 acres of land at the North Cache site and construction of new facilities at that site and at the Nelson Drive and Cottonwood sites.

The preferred alternative is Alternative 3 in this document. A decision has not been made at this point. Identifying a preferred alternative informs the public of Forest Supervisor Kniffy Hamilton’s intent. This alternative, if selected, would sell 10 acres of land along the southern boundary of the property and retain 5.3 acres located on the northern parcel. This configuration appears to generate the maximum return for the sale of the land. The document will be available online at www.fs.fed.us/r4/btnf/projects by the close of business on Tuesday, October 27, 2009.

The public will have 30 days to comment on this proposal. Comments should be submitted to Carole "Kniffy" Hamilton, Forest Supervisor, P.O. Box 1888, Jackson, WY 83001.
