CHEYENNE - Obtaining a license to hunt and fish in Wyoming just got easier now that a variety of hunting and fishing licenses can be purchased online from home computers.
Since this summer, leftover elk, deer and antelope licenses could be purchased online, but until recently, other licenses such as Game Bird/Small Game and Fishing were only available at Game and Fish offices and license agents. Those licenses are now also available online.
"Feedback from hunters and anglers has been positive," said Game and Fish chief fiscal officer Rich Reynders. "Sportsmen appreciate the ease and convenience of obtaining licenses from their homes prior to leaving for their hunting and fishing trip. This is something that has been requested by our license buying public for a long time."
Licenses that have carcass coupons can be purchased online and a receipt of the sale can be printed on the home computer. The actual license is mailed the next business day from the Cheyenne Headquarters following the online application. Most addresses in Wyoming can be reached by mail in a few days. For out-of-state addresses it could take a few days longer. Hunters may opt for purchase of these licenses in Wyoming at automated license agents if there is a concern over mail time. For other online licenses such as fishing, small game/bird and various stamps, the actual license and stamp is printed from the home computer.
Licenses and stamps are also available at the 300 plus traditional license agencies scattered throughout Wyoming.
