Wintery weather to return
Mix of rain and snow in outlook for the week, widespread strong wind
October 26, 2009
Snowfall will be present Monday, especially across western Wyoming. Snowfall potentially will become moderate to heavy this evening and continue into the overnight hours. Snowfall will create hazardous traveling conditions over the mountain passes Monday.
Tuesday through Sunday: A strengthening area of low pressure over the northern Intermountain West is expected to bring a return to widespread winter-like weather to western and central Wyoming Tuesday. Significant mountain snow is possible, along with widespread strong wind. Another significant snowstorm may develop east of the Divide Tuesday night through Wednesday.
This storm also has the potential to produce blizzard conditions across the Red Desert and Interstate 80 Corridor across Sweetwater County Wednesday and Wednesday night due to the development of strong northeast wind.
Sharply colder temperatures are expected as this storm passes through with highs only in the 20s and 30s Tuesday and Wednesday with some moderation possible Thursday.
